
The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Chairman of his Campaign Council, Prof. Silas D. Gyar.
In a statement issued on Tuesday evening in Lafia, Senator Wadada described the late professor’s passing as a shocking and painful loss to his political family, the people of Nasarawa State, and all who knew him.
“It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that I received the news of the passing of the Chairman of my Campaign Council, Prof. Silas D. Gyar, who departed this evening,” the statement read.
On behalf of the Wadada Political Family, the senator extended heartfelt condolences to the Gyar family, the people of the Mada Nation, residents of Kokona Local Government Area, and all those mourning the renowned academic and community leader.
Senator Wadada described Prof. Gyar as a distinguished scholar, accomplished leader, and a man of exceptional intellect whose contributions to society and public service earned him widespread respect.
He noted that the deceased played a significant role in advancing their shared political vision through his unwavering support, valuable counsel, and dedication.
“His steadfast support, wise counsel, and contributions to our shared vision will remain deeply valued and will not be forgotten,” the senator stated.
He prayed for Almighty God to grant the late professor eternal rest and give his family, friends, associates, and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
Prof. Silas D. Gyar’s death has been described by many as a major loss to the academic community, the Mada Nation, and Nasarawa State at large.
Senator Wadada concluded his tribute by praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace. Aameen,” he said.
