Hon. Ibrahim Hamza has said that the outcome of the just-concluded Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election, won convincingly by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Alhaji Danladi Evulanza, has vindicated his long-held position that there is practically no viable opposition in Nasarawa State.
Speaking with Nasarawa Eye in an exclusive interview shortly after the announcement of the election results, Hon. Hamza noted that the overwhelming victory recorded by the APC clearly demonstrates the confidence the people of the state have in the ruling party and the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
According to him, those claiming to constitute opposition in the state are merely making noise without offering any credible alternative to the people.
“The victory of Alhaji Danladi Evulanza has once again confirmed what I have always maintained—that there is no real opposition in Nasarawa State. People are simply shouting, but the electorate have continued to identify with the APC because of the tangible achievements of Governor Abdullahi Sule,” he stated.
Hon. Hamza said the governor’s impactful leadership over the last seven years has overshadowed every criticism from opposition elements, adding that the administration’s achievements in economic growth, infrastructural development, and social advancement have earned the trust and support of the people.
He particularly noted that in the last seven years, Governor Sule has recorded tremendous success in moving Nasarawa State forward through strategic investments, improved infrastructure, and policies aimed at enhancing the welfare of citizens.
“The remarkable achievements of Governor Abdullahi Sule have rendered opposition elements ineffective and unreliable in the eyes of the people. The administration’s performance speaks louder than any political propaganda,” he added.
Hamza further described the by-election victory as a clear indication of what to expect in the 2027 general elections, stressing that the APC remains the party to beat in Nasarawa State.
“This victory is a manifestation of what will happen in 2027. The APC has firmly established itself as the dominant political force in Nasarawa State and remains the party to beat,” he said.
He called on members of opposition parties to put aside partisan interests and join the APC in the collective effort to advance the development of the state.
Hon. Hamza also expressed confidence that Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada will emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship election in Nasarawa state, describing him as a distinguished leader whose track record of service and commitment to the people has always stood him out.
According to him, Senator Wadada has consistently demonstrated competence and leadership wherever he has served, noting that his contributions in the National Assembly have made him one of the most respected voices from Nasarawa State.
“Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada is not a benchwarmer in the National Assembly. He has always stood firmly for policies and initiatives that benefit the people, particularly the people of Nasarawa State. His antecedents speak for themselves, and he has continually demonstrated his pedigree in public service,” Hamza said.
He expressed optimism that the APC would continue to enjoy the support of the people of Nasarawa State owing to Governor Abdullahi Sule’s performance-driven leadership and commitment to delivering democratic dividends.
