Concerned Eggon youths have announced plans to immediately commence grassroots mobilisation across all Local Government Areas, development areas and wards in Nasarawa State in support of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The group, under the aegis of Concerned Eggon Youths for Wadada and led by Comrade Kigbu James Nehemiah, disclosed this on Monday at a World Press Conference in Lafia.
Nehemiah said the mobilisation would focus on civic education, voter awareness, youth participation and peace advocacy, as the group seeks to rally support for Wadada, popularly known as Iyan Eggon, of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the decision to support the senator followed months of consultations with youth groups, women organisations, students, professionals, traditional rulers and other community stakeholders across the 13 local government areas of the state.
According to him, the group was convinced by Wadada’s record of competence, integrity, accountability and commitment to public service.
Nehemiah said the senator’s contributions to legislative representation, youth empowerment, education, healthcare and community development had earned him recognition across the state.
“We believe Nasarawa State deserves leadership that prioritizes economic growth, job creation, quality education, improved healthcare, agricultural development, infrastructural expansion, security, and inclusive governance. We are convinced that Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada possesses the experience and leadership qualities required to pursue these objectives,” he said.
The group said its vision for the state included expanded employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for graduates, increased agricultural support for farmers, improved healthcare delivery and stronger infrastructure.
Nehemiah stressed that the movement would remain peaceful and issue-based, warning against violence, hate speech, misinformation and political intimidation.
“Violence, hate speech, misinformation, and political intimidation have no place in our campaign,” he said.
The youths, however, appealed to Wadada to clearly articulate his plans for the development, support and empowerment of Eggon youths if elected governor.
The group also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for what it described as his contributions to infrastructure and peacebuilding in Nasarawa State.
Nehemiah said the group’s declaration marked a collective decision by Eggon youths to mobilise for Wadada’s gubernatorial ambition.
“Today, history records that the concerned Eggon youths have spoken with one voice. Our support is total. Our commitment is unwavering. Our resolve is firm,” he said.
