NAPHDA Executive Secretary Congratulates Budget Commissioner, Pledges Stronger Collaboration


The Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NAPHDA), Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, has paid a congratulatory visit to the newly appointed Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Ahmad Yakubu Muhammad, at his office in the Ministry in Lafia.
The visit, which took place today, was aimed at congratulating the Commissioner on his appointment and exploring opportunities for stronger collaboration between NAPHDA and the Ministry of Budget and Planning.
Dr. Saleh described the appointment of Hon. Ahmad Yakubu Muhammad as an opportunity to further strengthen coordination between the health sector and the state’s planning and budgeting process. He emphasized the importance of effective planning, adequate budgeting and strategic resource allocation in achieving sustainable improvements in healthcare delivery across Nasarawa State.
He noted that the successful implementation of primary healthcare programmes requires strong institutional cooperation, particularly in the areas of policy development, budget planning, funding and monitoring of health sector interventions.
The NAPHDA Executive Secretary expressed optimism that the renewed collaboration would contribute to better planning and more efficient utilisation of resources, ultimately improving access to quality and affordable healthcare services for residents of the state.
In his response, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Ahmad Yakubu Muhammad, appreciated Dr. Saleh for the visit and congratulatory gesture. He assured NAPHDA of the Ministry’s commitment to supporting initiatives that would advance the state’s healthcare objectives.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to reaffirm their commitment to working together in ensuring that health sector priorities are adequately captured in government plans and budgets.
